First let me say that if you asked me 6 years
ago if I believed in love at first sight or if there was a match for
me at 40 years old, I would have told you that you were crazy, yet
here I sit extremely happy with life.
As I mentioned above, I was 40 years old at the
time that I met my wife. I had been on my own for 10 years, had been
on dates but had not found what I was looking for. Instead of giving
you my details today, the following is exactly what I wrote in my
profile on Lava life.
I am a single divorced
male, 40 years old. I am 5’8” tall 205 pounds with a shaved
head. I work out 4 to 5 times a week and consider myself in good
shape. I spend most of my time on the water cruising around,
waterskiing or relaxing at the cottage. I am a senior executive for
a manufacturing corporation. I have two kids, a boy 16 years old who
is living full time with me and a girl 22 who is out on her own. I
am looking for a woman in her late 30s to early 40s, who also takes
good care of herself, likes kids and going out.
My idea of a perfect date would be a dinner for two, and a slow

I signed up on Lava in Dec of that year. I was
shocked at the response I received from my profile almost
immediately. Many people were considerably younger than me some
older but many were right in the age bracket that I was looking for.
It all starts with chatting and as you get to know the person better
you will email or chat on the phone and it progresses from there. I
had gone on eight different dates with very interesting people but
didn’t seem to get that feeling I was looking for.
Then one evening I got a simple email on Lava
that simply said “HI” I opened her profile and read it over and
was very intrigued by what she had to say and yes let’s face it,
her pictures were perfect. We ended up chatting for a couple of
weeks, a couple of phone calls and we finally decided to meet. Well
I was not prepared for what happened from there. I walked into this
little pub where we had agreed to meet and she was sitting at the
front door waiting for me. She stood up to greet me and I could not
take my eyes off of her. She was amazing; we talked and laughed all
night. It was so easy, yes I said easy. There were no uncomfortable
moments right form the beginning, by the end of the night I was
hooked, I could not believe this was happening. At 11:00 she said
she had to leave so I walked her to her car. I reached out put my
hand on her cheek and kissed her other cheek and went to turn to
walk away but for some reason I stopped and said “I truly don’t
know how to properly end this” I looked into her eyes took her
gently in my arms and gave her a long slow kiss and said good night.

That was the beginning of a perfect
relationship, we got engaged a year later almost to the day and were
married the following spring. We now live in a beautiful home
together with three kids her two kids and my son and the world is
great.
SO in conclusion I want to say that if it had not been for Lava
life, I never would have met my wife, I would not be this happy. The
advantage of Lava life is that it gives you an opportunity to meet
people that you would not other wise meet. It opens up many new
doors for connections and new friends. It is simply one of the
easiest things I have ever done to meet new people.
